How it works

From listing to payout in four steps

  1. Step 1

    List your space for free

    Add photos, the size and location, a daily price and how much notice you need. It takes about ten minutes.

  2. Step 2

    Accept the requests you want

    Advertisers send a request with their dates and artwork. You have 48 hours to accept or decline — their card is held while you decide.

  3. Step 3

    Put the ad up

    Approve the artwork, put it up for the start date and upload a photo as proof of posting.

  4. Step 4

    Get paid

    We pay you as soon as your proof is uploaded, less our 10% fee. Stripe sends the money straight to your bank account.

Good to know

Does it cost anything to list?

No. Listing is free and there are no monthly fees. We keep 10% of the booking price only when a booking goes ahead. Advertisers pay a separate 5% protection fee, which doesn't come out of your earnings.

Do I have to accept every booking?

No. Every booking is a request that you accept or decline, and you can ask the advertiser to change their artwork before it goes up.

When do I get paid?

As soon as you upload proof of posting. If you don't, we pay automatically 48 hours after the start date, as long as the advertiser hasn't reported a problem. Stripe then sends the money to your bank account.

What do I need to get paid?

A UK bank account and a form of ID. You'll add these with Stripe, our payments partner — Advertoo never sees your bank details.

I'm VAT-registered. How does VAT work?

Prices on Advertoo are shown without VAT. If you tell us you're VAT-registered, we add 20% to your price and pass the VAT on to you in full, for you to account for to HMRC.

Who prints and puts up the advert?

You decide. If printing and installation are included, the advertiser just sends a file. If not, say what you need in your artwork specs.

What if an advertiser cancels?

The dates become available again, and you keep part of the booking for holding them: 50% of the price if they cancel 14–29 days before the start date, and all of it if they cancel later than that (less our 10% fee on what you keep). It's paid on the original start date. If they cancel 30 or more days ahead, they get the price back in full.

Do I need permission to advertise on my space?

You're responsible for having any permission your space needs — for example advertisement consent from your local council, or your landlord's or freeholder's agreement.
